Well, I do apologize for not updating sooner! I am on vacation, you know, and I don't like to have a strict schedule while on vacation! Today is Sunday, so we have been here in Texas for 5 days and we only have 2 days left before we leave on Wednesday morning. :( Neither Leslie or I are happy about that at all. We have had a wonderful time. We shopped a lot, ate at some great restaurants, and visited with the family. We took some good pictures at a barbeque the other night. We went down the road here to some friend of a friend of a friend's house. It was gorgeous, by the way!! It is in the same neighborhood that Tony Romo just bought a house, (he is Jessica Simpson's current boyfriend; Carrie Underwood's ex). Anyway, I digress. The backyard at the home where we visited was beautiful. It looked like something out of Home and Garden. The burgers were something to write home about as well.
Last night, we went to a restaurant in North Dallas called Cyclones! We sat outside on the patio for dinner. This place had an awesome atmosphere, and the food, WOW!!! I had the lobster enchiladas which were recommended to me, and I am so glad I did. They were delicioso! We took pictures here as well. Well gotta go for now. We are going over to Lake Lewisville today to get some sun on Daddy's boat! Will write more later! Love to all! Ciao!

Best Laid Plans
Here we go again!! Well this hurricane has really flipped and flopped our plans! Due to the inclimate weather, which should still be pretty severe tomorrow, we are now leaving on Wednesday morning. This is good in a way because I am working my last shift tonight and have not had time to finish cleaning or pack before leaving. Luckily, I did get all the laundry done. I also will have numerous shows on Tivo that I need to watch before leaving or I will never catch up!!
The new season of Gossip Girl came on tonight and all the previews I have seen look good. I love the line that B has in one of the previews when talking about Chuck Bass. Guess you will need to watch and see which line that is. It is definitely a cute play on words. By the way, if you do watch the CW shows on Monday and didn't get a chance to Tivo them, they show re-runs of Gossip Girl and One Tree Hill on Sunday afternoons starting at 4 or 5. So also, I have to see what happened on One Tree Hill!! Which girl met him at the airport??????? I really hope it is Peyton, but it probably isn't. The Closer is new tonight, as well as a new show following it called Raising the Bar. Weeds is new tonight and so is The Hills. So wow, that is 5 hours of TV that I have to catch up on in the morning!!
If for some reason our plans change again, I WILL not blog about. I will just let you know when and how we get there!!!!!! Hope everyone has a great Tuesday after a long weekend! Love to all who are reading!

Things Change in an Instant
Well, looks like there's a storm brewin! My plans are changing for vacation. Instead of leaving on Wednesday, I will be traveling on Tuesday. Instead of leaving from Birmingham, I will be leaving from Nashville! This is, of course, all thanks to Gustav, the Cat 3 hurricane that is brewing in the Gulf of Mexico. By the way, I have found that I am obsessed with the Weather channel, but only when a hurricane is coming. What is it about natural disasters that makes a body so interested? I sure hope and pray that the city of Nawlin's will be able to ride this one out better than they did in 2005 with Katrina.
So, back to my trip, our destination of Dallas TX will be leading me through places that I have never been before. We will go west across Tennessee and travel through Memphis. I have always wanted to go to Memphis. I've always wanted to walk on Beale St. or tour Elvis' cheesy mansion. Maybe someday, huh? From Memphis, we will be going southwest through the state of Arkansas. Never been here either! The way it looks on the map we will be driving horizontally through the state and go through Little Rock. I don't know much about Little Rock, in fact, the only time I know that I have ever brought it up is when I was singing Reba's song about it. Now, that I think about that song, I don't think it has much to do with the city!!
Ok, so just know that my itinerary has changed however my destination remains the same! I can't wait to see my sister and brother!!!!!!
The next update should probably come from Dallas, TX where I will be discussing how much rain and wind we had to drive through to get there! :)

Newness
Hello to all,
Since I am new to this whole blog thing, I thought I would give it a try over my summer vacation and see how it goes. Here is the background so you will know the who, what, where, when, etc. My Dad lives out in a suburb of Dallas, TX. The Dallas area is an awesome place to find tons of stuff to do. I won't spoil any surprises but we have a lot of things planned for the 7 days we will be out there. I bet you are wondering who this "we" person is! My friend Leslie!!!!
Leslie and I met in nursing school back in 2004. We attended a community college in Tuscaloosa, AL and have been besties since that time. We also attempted RN school together, but she made it through and I did not. :( That is a story for another time though. Anyway, we are leaving early Wednesday morning just me, Leslie, and my little child, Maggie. Maggie is not an actual child, she is my miniature Schnauzer. As soon as I can, I will put pictures of her on here. She is precious.
So, I am so ready for the 10+ hour road trip. I probably won't update before then because I have to work 4 12-hr shifts starting tonight!
