*February 12, 2010*

Good morning to all,
It is a chilly 11 degrees here this morning!! I hope everyone is staying warm with this big snowy mess coming through the South. I know one thing, I am tired of snow! I made the mistake of whining about the fact that I haven't seen a good snow since moving up here! Well, did I ever get what I asked for!!

Last weekend, I was in LA visiting my Dad and step-mom. The weather was sunny and warm for the most part. Then on Monday, I fly back to Tennessee and what is waiting on me... snow! 4 inches of snow fell that night! So needless to say, y'all can have the snow... my cup runneth over! :)
Here is a picture from my fast weekend trip to California

We drove out to Palm Springs on Sunday and enjoyed the 68 degree weather! How nice!!

Okay, enough whining and pouting, moving on to Foodie Friday!! Since it's Valentine weekend, I thought I would post a chocolate recipe that I just found. I haven't even made this one yet, but you better believe I will be making it soon!!
Fudge Brownie Pie with Caramel Sauce (from Betty Crocker)

1 refrigerated pie crust, softened per box directions

1 cup butter

2 cups sugar

2 teaspoons vanilla

4 eggs, slightly beaten

1 1/2 cups AP flour

3/4 cup unsweetened baking cocoa

1/4 teaspoon salt

1 cup semisweet chocolate chunks

1 cup chopped pecans

1 (14 oz) bag caramels, unwrapped

2/3 cup half-and-half

Heat oven to 350. Place pie crust in 9 inch glass pie plate as directed on box. In 2-qt saucepan, melt butter over low heat; remove from heat. Stir in sugar, vanilla, and eggs until well blended. Stir in flour, cocoa, and salt until smooth. Stir in chocolate chunks and pecans. Spread evenly in pie crust. Bake 45-50 minutes or until set. Cool 1 hour.

Meanwhile, in 2-qt saucepan, heat caramels and half-and-half over low heat, stirring constantly, until caramels are melted and mixture is smooth. Serve hot caramel sauce over each serving.
